In conjunction with our 2008 Assets Learning Conference, CFED is convening a Business Roundtable on Thursday, September 11 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Washington, DC.  You are invited to join a select group of leading employers and their partners who are interested in exploring the lessons and opportunities afforded through employer-based asset-building initiatives.

Employer-based asset-building encourages employees to build assets through homes, education, retirement and other savings opportunities.  By encouraging asset-building, these policies, products and practices also benefit employers as they create a highly skilled, invested, loyal and stable workforce.

Featured strategies include: emergency payroll loans, auto-enrollment 401(k)s, broad-based employee stock options, financial education and savings tools.  The Business Roundtable will pose the following questions to participants:

  • How are asset-building initiatives impacting corporate culture?
  • How have asset-building initiatives affected employee recruitment, productivity, morale and retention? and
  • What is the impetus that is driving employers to begin implementing asset-building strategies?

CFED believes that America's economic vitality and security is enhanced when people have the opportunity to invest in their futures and weather financial storms.  Unfortunately, many American households have not had the opportunity and/or resources to accumulate adequate savings to sustain even three months of income disruption.  By attending the Business Roundtable, we believe that you can be part of the solution.

The fee for attending the Business Roundtable is $500 for an individual who is also registering for the full Conference and $1,200 for those who are not attending the Conference.

If you have any questions about the Business Roundtable or the Assets Learning Conference, please contact Keven Cotton at (202) 207-0131 or kcotton@cfed.org.
